The Belgravia Bench / Footstool is a handcrafted upholstered bench

Mare to order and designed to be properly used and sat on, not simply styled. Its versatile proportions make it equally suited to bedrooms, hallways, dressing rooms, window bays, or at the foot of a bed.

Each piece is handmade in my studio using traditional upholstery techniques, with careful attention to proportion, comfort, and detailing throughout.

Upholstery Options

The Belgravia Bench / Footstool is available in a choice of classic ticking stripe or luxurious velvet upholstery, allowing you to tailor the piece to your interior scheme.

Classic Ticking Stripe

Ticking stripe is a timeless textile with a long history in interiors, valued for its traditional character, durability, and versatility. The fine stripe and structured weave provide stability while maintaining a relaxed handle, making it particularly well suited to upholstered benches and occasional seating.

Luxurious Velvet

For a softer, more decadent finish, the Belgravia is also available in a luxurious upholstery velvet. Velvet offers a rich depth of colour and a smooth, tactile surface, bringing warmth and elegance to both contemporary and classic interiors.

Construction & Upholstery

The Belgravia Bench / Footstool is upholstered using a traditional, considered build-up to ensure comfort, durability, and longevity:

• Solid internal construction for strength and stability
• A 4” Thick Superior reflex foam for supportive seating
• Additional foam to the sides for structure and balance
• Layered with Dacron
• Finished with natural wool for fire retardancy
• Upholstered entirely by hand in studio

This process results in a piece designed for everyday use, not purely decorative styling.

Size & Proportions

The Belgravia Bench / Footstool is offered in carefully considered dimensions, 52cm width x 102cm length x 45cm height proportioned to suit a wide range of interiors.

Bespoke lengths, depths, and heights are also available if you require a custom size to suit your space.

Legs & Castors

Each piece is finished with solid turned wooden legs, approximately 200mm high, fitted with castors for ease of movement.

Available leg finishes:

Castor & Metal Finish Options (Bespoke):

Leg and castor combinations can be selected to complement your chosen upholstery and interior scheme.

How to Order

This is a made-to-order bespoke piece.

1. Select your preferred fabric (ticking stripe or velvet) and colour, then place your order through the website.
2. After ordering, you will be contacted to:
   
• confirm final specifications
• answer any questions regarding sizing or fabric
• arrange fabric samples if required
3. 
   

Once all details are confirmed, your bench will move into production.

Delivery & Lead Time

• Lead time: approximately 6–8 weeks from confirmation of all details
• Delivery costs are calculated based on size, weight, and location
• You will be contacted to confirm delivery options and final shipping costs prior to dispatch

This ensures safe and appropriate delivery of a handcrafted furniture item.

Coordinating Bespoke Pieces

If you would like to create a coordinated interior scheme, bespoke cushions, curtains, and Roman blinds can also be made to complement your Belgravia Bench / Footstool.
